Bus Survey + Results

We set up a small survey about bus usage, particularly Wellington bus usage but also open to those from other places, to get a feel for how the general public feels about buses.

An analysis of the results:
  • Most of our respondents used the bus often, with many saying they used it nearly every weekday. They were also all within the range of 19-25.
  • People cited early morning commutes as the most stressful time for bus journeys.
  • People tend to just zone out or use their phones while on the bus, with the only stated source of discomfort during the ride being if the bus is overcrowded.
  • A quarter of respondents can not drive while over half chose buses as alternative to cars for commutes and short trips to the city.

  • One respondent noted that they paid "With snapper because it's cheaper. If my snapper has run out I would hop off the bus and grab an uber", showing that people may like low prices but also highly prioritize convenience.
